Why Hire A Professional?
Time · Money · Safety · Quality
Time
A professional painting contractor saves time. Any business or homeowner who has ever started a simple do-it-yourself painting project understands the challenges of getting the job done on time. There are always extra trips to the paint store for supplies. It is difficult to accurately estimate the time required to properly prepare the project area. And, there is always the unanticipated time required for touch-ups and repair. Hire a professional painting contractor, then schedule more important – and more fun – things to do with your valuable time.
Money
A professional painting contractor saves money. Every do-it-yourself project ends up costing more than the original budget. Whether it's underestimating total paint needs, adding in the cost of clean-up, or all the other unanticipated expenses that come up, don't put the additional strain on your wallet. Hire a professional painting contractor that knows the right product and has the right tools to complete the job on time.
Safety
A professional painting contractor knows safety. Every painting project requires attention to safety. There are common hazards on every paint project site that could cause injury and job-time losses, and may even affect your income. Most insurance requires a deductible, so any accident will increase the cost of the project. Hire a professional painting contractor who is trained on the most up-to-date safety rules to limit the possibility of accidents and reduce your exposure. Why put your personal safety at risk?
Quality
A professional painting contractor delivers quality. The choices today are more complicated than just oil or latex. Most do-it-yourselfers don't have the industry knowledge to know what works, how to use it, or have the right tools for the job. Details such as surface prep, paint application and a material's long-term durability often get overlooked. The use of high quality products is as important as excellence in paint application. Hire a professional painting contractor who is educated on all of the different aspects of any painting project helps eliminate surprises and ensures you have a finished product you can be proud of.

SHOULD YOU PAINT YOUR HOUSE BEFORE SELLING?
Wednesday 25th of April 2012 10:29:15 AM
On one hand, it seems a waste to paint your home right before you move out of it. After all, why go to all that trouble and expense if you won’t get to enjoy the benefits? But on the other hand, will painting increase the value of your home so that you can sell it for more? The answer to that question is a clear and resounding YES!
Market studies consistently show that repainting your home produces a 140% return on investment. This means that spending $5,000 on a paint job is likely to increase the selling price of your house by $7,000, which is a profit of $2,000. Not only does it increase your sale price, but it also boosts your likelihood of selling at all. In our current housing market, selling is difficult because buyers are few. Making sure that your home is freshly painted will increase its attractiveness to realtors and buyers.
Some additional tips for consideration if you are planning to sell your home:
- Spend the money to do the job well. Since you stand to profit from the investment, pay what it takes to have the highest-quality materials, and hire a contractor who will leave your house in truly spectacular condition.
- Use neutral colors. Here in the Los Angeles area, many homeowners enjoy neutral tones such as browns, beiges, and varying light shades of green and gray. White is always a great choice for the trim. Even if the colors are not the favorite choices of the prospective buyer, he or she is likely to be impressed by the clean, stylish look, and is unlikely to be turned off.
Hire a professional painting company who has established a reputation for reliability, responsiveness and flawless results. Findapainter.com is a great resource to locate a painter near you that you can trust.

WHY EXTERIOR PAINTING SHOULD BE FIRST ON YOUR SPRING TO-DO LIST
Wednesday 4th of April 2012 08:46:40 AM
By Debbie Zimmer
Director of Communications and Alliances, Paint Quality Institute
As the springtime weather shifts from messy to mild, every homeowner's attention turns to the out of doors. It's time to clean things up, tend to the garden, and make needed repairs to both the home and its surroundings. Where to start? Assuming that your exterior paint is failing, it's best to focus on that first. And, there are plenty of good reasons to start spring chores with exterior painting. So, why wait? Read the tips below and get started on your own exterior paint job!
Why now? First, spring is a very comfortable time to do outdoor painting. Second, it's smart to paint before putting down mulch, which along with your plants, will just get trampled if you paint later on. Third, why not get your painting done before more pleasant ‘distractions' like gardening, sports, and barbecues begin?
If your house paint is near the end of its life expectancy, you're taking a chance by postponing repainting. It doesn't take long for exposed wood to begin to rot, and other types of exteriors also suffer when the paint wears off. Wait too long and you may have to make repairs before starting to paint.
Another reason to get to your painting first: Exterior latex paint forms the most durable, protective finish when the weather is mild. It's always best to do exterior painting when the temperature is above 50 degrees F., but not too hot. Very hot days can cause the paint to dry too quickly and impair good paint film formation. By painting in moderate weather, you'll likely get a longer-lasting paint job.
Hire a professional painter who knows the best times to paint and what types of weather conditions to avoid. A professional painting contractor also has the industry knowledge to know how to prep the work surface properly and is educated on the type of products to use. Relying on an educated, professional painting contractor helps eliminate surprises and ensures you have a finished product you can be proud of.
Once you've finished your exterior painting project, you can turn your attention to the other things on your to-do list. What's more, you'll have peace of mind knowing that you've "invested" in your biggest investment – your home.
